Passport to Austria

A guide to Austria for the descendants of Jewish refugees who have reclaimed citizenship

Welcome

Almost 33,000 people have obtained Austrian citizenship as a result of a law the country enacted in 2020, making all descendants of Jewish refugees eligible. Many will have questions about facets of life in the country of their forebears. This initiative, founded by a journalist who has covered the subject of the refugee experience and citizenship restitution, will arrange webinars to answer some of them in cooperation with Austrians who are interested to engage with their new compatriots.
